Who We Are -

The Orion Area Parade Group is a fully licensed, non-profit corporation made up of volunteers who have helped to organize, participate in and provide the Holiday Lighted Parade in the historic Village of Lake Orion. Our volunteers come from business and civic organizations as well as area residents

Our Goals -

  • Organize and manage events in the Orion area.
  • Fund raising.
  • Coordinate activities with other business and civic organizations.
  • Grow community involvement and excitement.
  • Marketing of Events.


Current Events -
The Holiday Lighted Parade

The Holiday Lighted Parade, scheduled for the first Saturday in December, is one of the only night time parades in Michigan. Each float is illuminated by strings of lights providing an unbelievable display. As many as 75 entries provide for an exciting holiday celebration for thousands of visitors to the area. This year the parade will be held on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2008.

The Holly Jolly Folly

The Holly Jolly Folly began in 2002 as an awards event and fund raiser for the Holiday Lighted Parade. Prizes, entertainment, food and drinks are provided in a holiday setting at locally. Area organizations hold their annual holiday party at this event. Join the celebration and support the community! More...

Community Involvement -

The OAPG is currently working with the Downtown Lake Orion to coordinate holiday marketing efforts and event planning. Other business and civic organizations throughout the Orion area who plan to organize events during the same week, are welcome to contact the OAPG to include their event as part of the coordinated holiday activities.


Funding -

The OAPG events cannot exist without the generosity of the community.
The facts are:

  • 100% of your donation helps pay for events
  • All OAPG members are unpaid volunteers
